LITTER PICK 2020
Special arrangements
We are proceeding with a very limited event due to the restrictions on
movement and association; to participate please ensure the following:
- Do not attend if you are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 or are in a
high risk group.
- Attendance is only allowed as part of your permitted daily exercise,
following the restrictions set out at
gov.uk
- You must not drive to pick up or return equipment, as this is non-essential
travel.
- Please ensure you have a charged mobile phone with you in case of incident.
- Please wear suitable 'high visibility' clothing, including strong shoes or
boots and gardening gloves.
- Household members who already associate with each other may form a litter
pick team, and must remain separated from other teams.
- Individuals must not litter-pick alone when using Council equipment however
they may still be able to contribute by working, for example on the other side
of a road staying well away from, but still in visual and audible contact with a
team.
- Usual litter pick rules:
Do not collect the following: asbestos, tyres, hazardous waste such as paint and
chemicals, needlesticks or other drugs paraphernalia, other sharps or bulk
waste such as fridges. Leave them where they are and inform the coordinator.
Unfortunately it is not possible for our post-pick coffee-and-cake afterwards,
but hopefully we can do this at some later date.
Event
All the equipment has been bleached and left in the sun to dry. It will be
available between 10:00–11:00am, Saturday 4 April on the driveway at:
Stone House Farm, The Street
(last house on right as you leave the village)
If you wish to attend please stagger your arrival time throughout the hour and,
from a distance, I will discuss where you are working and any other restrictions
and usual safety measures.
- After returning home please wash hands with soap and water for at least 20
seconds.
- Depending on circumstances, it is recommended washing clothes and gloves.
Some equipment is owned by the Parish Council may be loaned out for a longer
period, please discuss with the coordinator.
