Ramming spikes and 'scythed chariot' wheels are strictly forbidden!


Traditional soap-box cart pin-axle steering is not permitted, unfortunately the pivot creates a scissor-like action which could injure a leg in the event of a collision.



Sharp edges can be softened with corrugated card or bubble wrap. It's a scrap cart so sticking protection on with 'gaffer tape' is entirely acceptable. Even the edge of plywood can be sufficiently sharp to cause a problem when you crash, so please be generous with the padding.



Wheel bearing should be held on with castellated nuts (with a cotter pin!) or nyloc nuts. Ensure that if something comes lose, it's obvious before anything actually falls off.
